Qualification: I started playing the tabla at the age of eight. I was inspired by my uncle Rupak Deb Raikat, a very renowned tabla player of Jalpaiguri. I was initiated by and am the student of the tabla maestro Pandit Shankar Ghosh. Achievements in Tabla - I was awarded the first prize for Instrumental music in the year 2007, 2008 and 2009 and the second prize in the same category in the year 2005, 2006 and 2010 in SPICMACAY 'MILAAP'. I was awarded the second prize in the year 2007 and first prize in the year 2008 in the All Bengal Tabla Lahara Competition introduced by Ustad Keramat Khan. I was awarded the prestigious Abhinav Shroff Memorial Award in the year 2009. I was awarded the first prize by Sri Aurobindo Institute of Culture in a prestigious competition judged by Pt.
